About Us
Who are we?
Let me introduce the two of us: Rene Monderen (USA Archery NTS Level 3 instructor) and my daughter Lois (USA Archery level 1 instructor). We have been involved in archery for several years. I started coaching 15 years ago and my daughter joined me as an assistant coach when we started Pinehurst Archery in February of 2022. We offer archery lessons for all levels, from beginners to advanced. Ages 9 and up. Equipment provided.
What do we offer?
Pinehurst Archery is a wonderful way to explore the world of archery. We are teaching archery for all ages 9 and up.
- We provide classes for beginners, recreational and for advanced shooters.
- We shoot at regular foam targets and 3D targets.
- It is open for the following styles: Olympic recurve, barebow recurve, traditional and compound (max 50 lbs).
All equipment is provided. You don't have to buy anything.

Recreational Groups
Every Saturday
This class is for every level archer, from beginner to advanced. If you would like to learn how to shoot a bow and arrow in a fun and safe environment, this is the perfect class for you. We meet every Saturday for an hour. Registration is for a 6 weeks session and will go through Pinehurst Parks & Recreation. We have first time shooters and returning ones. This is also for more experienced shooters that just need a refresher course. We offer this to Olympic recurve, barebow recurve, traditional and compound (max 50 lbs). Ages 9 and up.
We have three groups:
- Elementary Group
- Middle School and Highschool Group
- Adults

Advanced Group
Every Monday or Friday
This program is intended for those who have archery experience, but are looking to improve their form and accuracy, want better focus, and generally progress their skill level as an archer. Participants of this class will also learn about equipment setup and tuning. We will follow the USA Archery guidelines and participate in the JOAD program.
- 4:00-5:30 PM
- For archers that are taking the next steps to a competitive level.
- Having your own equipment is recommended, but not mandatory.
- Participating in tournaments is another fun part of being part of an advanced group.
- For first time advanced shooters: you don't need to buy your own equipment right away. I will work with you to make sure you get the right equipment.

Spring Recreational Schedule
After the winter break, we will start the new Spring 1 session on Feb 15. Registration is open through Pinehurst Parks & Rec. See the link under registration.
Advanced Group schedule
Advanced shooters can choose between the Monday and Friday sessions.

Private Lessons
If the Saturday or the advanced sessions doesn't work for you, private lessons might be the solution. No matter the skill level. From a first time shooter to an experienced archer, I will help you get to the next level.
